Golf has been around for a long time and it is one game that hasn’t changed very much. One thing that has changed, however, are driver clubs. Originally they were called woods simply because they were made of wood. At the time they were made, there was no metal light enough to serve as a driver head and if there was a metal it was just too expensive for the average person to afford. There are three types of drivers or woods, whichever you prefer to call them and they are the following
Driver The purpose of a driver is to hit the ball straight and hit it a great distance. This type of club is typically used for the first swing of a course and the general idea is to keep it out of water and sand traps and on the course. The only problem is that it does take a bit of skill to use a driver as you will need to be able to eliminate the ‘slice’ that plagues many golfers. The slice is something that occurs when a golfer hits the ball at an odd angle, causing it to fly off of the fairway.
