2008 SPRING GUN TICKET IS A WINNER
The clubs 2008 Spring Gun Ticket, our five day, five gun raffle, was again a success. Thanks to the 56 members and friends who sold tickets and all those who supported this well received fundraiser. Special thanks to our major ticket sellers: Cy Milko; 95, Tom Adams; 50, Randy Reece; 50, Lee Atwood; 45, Mike Cooper; 45, Tom Witman; 41, Bill McCully; 35, Mark Grivna; 30. Plans are underway for our 2008 Fall gun ticket which should be available at the September 1, 2008 membership meeting.
NOMINATIONS FOR 2009 CLUB OFFICERS ACCEPTED AT JULY 11, 2008 MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Nominations for 2009 club officers will be accepted at the July 1, 2008 membership meeting. Nominations will also be accepted at the August 4, 2008 membership and election of officers meeting. For details contact the nomination committee, Tom Witman 724-864-2671. Nominations will be accepted for; four annual Trustees, President, V. President, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, NRA/CMP Secretary, Publicity Officer, Recording Secretary and Membership Secretary.
ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS re:RIFLE RANGE USE
Please remember that when using a shotgun with shot shells on the rifle range use of the patterning board, located under the pavilion, is required. Slug gun use is restricted to the 50 yard, left hand backstop only. Please remove targets and police your area using the trash barrels on site. Please observe and help enforce the Range Rules as posted.
2008 (BOWLING) PIN SHOOT LEAGUE & PRACTICE, SHOOTERS WANTED.
Barry Podunavac has agreed to run another year of bowling pin shoots, league and practice, from April thru October, schedules are posted in Clubhouse and at the Pistol Range. BOY SCOUT TROOP 250 ASSISTS CLUB’S BMP/ESP COMMITTEE WITH TIRE ROUND-UP.
On Monday April 7, 2008 fellow club member and Scoutmaster Mark Grivna along with numerous scouts and parents from Troop 250 participated in a PA CLEANWAYS “fugitive tire round-up” on club property. A trailer load of illegally dumped tires was “corralled” and removed from the hillside behind our WOR&GC marquee sign on Skellytown Road. This improvement was greatly appreciated by our BMP/ESP (Environmental Stewardship Program) Committee. Special thanks to BSA Troop 250, and parents, for their outstanding volunteer effort.
BEGINNER’S SHOTGUN COURSE
The club will hold a BEGINNER”S SHOTGUN COURSE for junior shooters ages 10-18. The club is able to provide this course as a result of receiving a grant from the NRA foundation to cover the cost of the course. The course will be held during June, July and August.
